Anders Gustaf Rosenberg (from Södermanland/Sörmland) was one of the first and most significant collectors of Swedish folk melodies in the 1800s. He released several collections in which he arranged tunes for piano, an instrument that was increasingly popular at the time and which was therefore a significant vehicle for spreading the tradition.
